Right, Kurt dont insult anyone based on their opinon. Stating that someone is a "kiddie" because they like a game is foolish and beneath everyone on these fourms, yes even Goji.
As for the other topic at hand, I vote that Tigerlan go back to its roots and just become a lanparty with door prizes. I suggest this only halfway jokingly, I mean it would save alot of heartache and, for lack of a better word: "bitching" about everything tournament related.
Since I started going to these, back cough cough, well Id say 75% of games that we have had tournaments in people have complained about: be it rulesets, prizes, or the game choice. Granted I am from the camp that believes if it is not easily fixed, get rid of it. Well that and I have no say whatsoever on any of this - I have my dirty fingers wrapped around other interest recently. |

Ok, in all honesty, for (a) tournament(s) to survive, you have to focus the event on the specific tournament. This, by its very nature, is counter to what TigerLAN represent(s)(in') (nigga!)
Honestly, for a tournament event to be good, the event must be focused on said tournament. That's not what TigerLAN is about. (This is why it's hot!)
I've been thinking about the difference between TLX and TL1 the past few days (minute) and I've seen how it's morphed. In some ways, good, others, well, not so good (hell naw [kitten]!)
Deep in my gamer (nerd/punkassbitch) heart of hearts, I believe we should look at abolishing (I have a dream, nigguh) tournaments and/or certain formats (pwnager blitzches!) But those decisions are left for the next TigerLAN event. We push forward with what we've already decided, and make the necessary decisions regarding what's been decided, rather than try to [fluff] in our hands and make it work. I mean, it just doesn't happen as fast as a lot of you might want it to. Sorry. Not really.
I believe the future of TigerLAN is bright, but it'll take some work and changes before it happens (ya HEARD?!?!!)
Besides kurt, you're just lashing out. We want to attract more gamers. I just believe we've been attracting the wrong kind.
Yeah, I'm elitist (an asshole) - deal with it or go home (get the [fluffy kitten] out!) My thoughts aren't very appropriate in this topic so I'll probably start a new thread later, but only after conferencing with the people whose opinions I value the most, and that precludes me talking to most people here.
Cheers. nigga. |

Back in my day we didn't have your fancy-schmancy prizes!
We sent flocks of 50 priests to convert enemy lands for PRIDE! You know what that is boys??? Didn't think so...ya gotta have some to know what it is...
We threw suicide-bomber sheep at each other for the simple ability of being able to say we blew our opponents up with SHEEP while watching them slowly sink into the depths of the water.
We pushed eachother off of tall buildings in the middle of space for the pleasure of watching the cold vaccuum take hold of our foes!
We raced 5 polygon cars around tracks with invisible obstacles and broken controls for the pure FUN of the entire affair!
Fun and the ability to taunt...those are the things we lived for, and they were enough!
....oh, and Burger King coupons. |

Just like it was a waste of time for me to go to MLG Orlando JUST to play Halo, and it's gonna be a waste of my time to go to the Meadowlands JUST to play Rainbow Six: Vegas? And it's a waste of time for me to go to MLG/CPL events JUST to write articles for AmpedESports.com.
Plus, this is just a reason for me to go down and visit my friends who go to Auburn, (since I USED TO go to Auburn).
Plus, it's not my life, I do other things too, such as play College football, but I won't get into that. Yes, I love Halo, as well as all video games... |

Um, you do know that everything I say should not be taken seriously. I need to put a disclaimer in my signature or something....
Halo is not a bad game. If you ignore the entire PC world... |

Must.... resist... wow.. comments....... must.... resist.....
Also, saying your from CAL doesn't make me respect you more. CAL screwed over my BF2 team a few years ago with some bogus cheating reports.... they didn't even review our petitions. In fact, the GUIDs said to be cheating weren't even the GUIDs on our team roster... It was getting screwed over like crazy, probably because we pissed of one of some admin's friend by totally raping them in a match...
CAL is far from professional is what I mean to say. You could at least follow your own petition process..... |

| Haha, well, you haven't ever been under my reign. CAL has changed BIG TIME in the past year. I mean, I can't handle what goes on in anything outside of my jurisdiction (All console games, and soon to be H2V), but I've been around it for a few year as a player also, and now it is MUCH better than it used to be. There have been a lot of personnel changes, especially with the addition of more console titles such as Gears of War and Madden. Plus the CPL is taking more charge of CAL than ever. |

OK guys - take the conversation to the appropriate thread. End of story.
Kurt - I like you, sort of, so don't take this as a full frontal assault. Think of it more like a skirmish. Sometimes you need to just STFU and stay quiet. And if you absolutely MUST say something, don't put it in a thread that is designed to communicate to members outside of the gamers, ie this thread. This is an informational thread set up to address the XBOX tournament for TigerLAN.
This goes for everybody - if your comment doesn't add value, then it belongs in "Everything Else" under the "General" category. We've been clogging up way too many threads with useless drivel and mindless bullshit. This thread isn't here to intimidate people away from the event, it's here to disseminate necessary info and conduct a poll.
Thank you. Lock this thread. It needs it. |
