Meh, hate builds character. It makes you stronger.
But yeah, I wonder when the inevitable " I was bringing 600003048305003030040 friends but won't now because no haalo torneyment!!!1oneone111!!!" ****-storm will begin.
This'll be fun.
It will be interesting to see how you handle this, and what precautions you've put in place.
Like sending out a TigerLAN Email to alert members of voting and such.
But it's not necessarily a rule....
Ack seems to think it would be amazing if D.I.E. ends up slapping someone as he would a female dog over the incoming ****-storm.
Me? I just like cake...and drama I'm not involved in...but cake mostly. |

| I almost want to go to TL now and just wait by the door to watch the Halo kiddies screech. I don't even have to pay: I could just lounge out in the lobby. |

| If someone wants to complain about there not being a Halo competition, I'm going to preemptively tell you right now that it's your own damn fault. You and your 600003048305003030040 friends could have voted but you didn't. |

Success!!!
Someone please point me to the best seats for this show!
side note:
Saw that picard pic this morn before class. After a day of deliberation I decree that to be the best response to anything ever.

| I'm not very familiar with TigerLANs (I attended one, briefly, as a spur of the moment-type thing) and I'm looking here because I got an email. But I would like to know how the games are picked for nomination. Wouldn't it be most beneficial if the most popular games were at least nominated since more people would attend? Or newer games? For example, I would expect a game like Call of Duty 4 to be nominated over a game like DOA4. |

The game choices are usually decided in the first TL planning meeting of the semester. It's generally a round-table of the AUCGC officers, TL volunteers, and anyone else who wants to attend.
It is supposed to be their collective responsibility to be current on what games are out or will be coming out that A) have a large following, B) are viable for a 1hr competition, C) will have people wanting to play. They make suggestions, argue for a bit, make notes to look up more on certain games, argue some more, then an initial list is created.
After a week or two that list is brought back together with any extra research that needed to be done and any post-meeting competition ideas that made it to the staff. That list then becomes the final list and is posted on the forums for vote. An email is then supposed to go out to the member list letting them know the vote is open. Once the vote is open, then if there is a game that someone wants in a category, they can request is on the forums. If it is a serious request, then it will get added to the choices. Unfortunately, some people may have already voted for other games. We have gone behind the scenes and swapped their vote for them in the past, but we (read: I) try to not make a habit of that.
The process is not perfect, but we're working to change that. Any suggestions you have would be useful. |

| I did have a pre-voting topic up for what we would vote on for the tournaments. As far as I know we haven't posted before voting and asked what people what like to vote on. I just noticed it was under the title of TL Meeting Results; that could have been better titled to let people know were to post what voting choices they would like. |
