If somebody finds a Socket A for you I must kill you. I was asking for one ages ago...

You're kurt, he's Vandyl. Take note that even though both of your names classify as proper nouns, I didn't bother to capatalize yours.

yet you managed to completely (Cd, if you'll please notice that neither vandyl's nor kurtmax's names are capitalized, you will undoubtedly see why you have made a mistake. Furthermore, vandyl feels insulted by your misuse of his name. Therefore, your original intention of claiming that vandyl is more important than kurtmax fails epically. Finally, no one is more important than the other, and to claim as such will surely bring downfall to our social structures and yada yada yada blah blah blah equality whine whine whine complain complain possible Gamerism yada blah whine complain and thats how Face's species reproduces.) it all up.

I've been looking through ebay - the brand-name socket a/462 boards are priced much higher than I expected. (Semi-elastic economy)

Oh, btw billy - if my brother unpuckers his financial rectum just enough to do a minor upgrade, I might have some spare parts for you - like, say, a thoroughbred xp1700+, gf4ti4200 - I'd pretty much be giving them away (if I don't decide to hawk em on ebay)

I think I know that setup, I seem to recall you using a similar one at our first Tigerlan in the current location, but that was several years ago and I may be blurred in my recolection.

And it is funny that you bring that up since I was eyeing some Socket A stuff not to long ago for making a pc for my den. Granted my Dvi to HDMI cable requires a card that can push out the juice, but Svideo will work fine for the use of streaming off my network. You now how to reach me.

Hm, not sure if I ever took that build to Tigerlan in the current location - if I did, it would've had a Radeon 8500, not a Ti4200.

it's a solid card, but outclassed these days.

I've got a old A7V333 board if you get desperate. It only supports up to PC2700 RAM speeds and has a crappy VIA chipset, but it works.

But my favorite socket A board was the Abit NF7-S. So keep an eye out for that one. (Sister is using that system now and it's still goin strong)

Oh, and TI4200's are still the bomb. Amazing that it can still run current gen games. (Albeit at low resolutions)

Yeah, the nf-7 is going for very high prices at ebay - it's frustrating. And the Asus A7N series is equally expensive. For USED MOBOS!!! It's crazy. But I managed to find an MSI K7N2G for a decent price. We'll see how it works. The caps look like they're in good shape, so I hope it'll work.

The fucked up part of it is my bro decided to do an update - so instead of the mobo replacement I've been going for, he's agreed to spend some extra money to upgrade it to a 939 AMD 64 w/ 7600GS. Go figure. Soon I'll be posting a WTS nf2 socket A w/ XP 1700+. And a 4200 haha

How much and does the 4200 have svideo out?
vandyl - Apr 03, 2007 - 07:56 PM
Post subject: RE: Re: WTB: Socket A Mobo - Needed for "first aid"
No, vga only. But the msi mobo should arrive with the add-on card (it's got the built in gpu that came with the nf2 mcp chipset) that has svideo out. But it's not microatx.

Im not a sole microatx and below fan you know. I am actually looking to build it into a Virtual-On cab, so any sized motherboard works.

What kind of 4200 wouldn't have RCA/SVIDEO out? Never seen one without all three VGA/TV/DVI ports.

Das crazy.
