In case anyone didn't know, the final retail version of Win 7 is now on MSDNAA for free. You can get access if you're taking some kind of computer class, or in an engineering major. (I believe)
Send an email asking for MSDNAA access to:
Kelly Price
pricekg@auburn.edu
I don't where her new office is in Shelby, but she'd probably just tell you to send her an email anyway.
Also been using it since January. It's awesome. |

Yep. I've been using the RC since... forever. I'm actually formatting one of my flash drives to install the release of 7 now...
It's been sitting around begging to be installed for a week or two. I swear... |

I've been very happy with the 64bit RC version. Wiped my laptop completely and installed it. BUT! Sony is way behind on drivers. I've had to spend significant time chasing down compatible 64bit drivers and I'm still missing a few things, like my built in webcam - and the built in mic doesn't work either. Just weird.
Have the RC on my desktop as well, dual-boot with XP. Only one driver issue there: Creative (surprise surprise, right?)
From a usability perspective, I'm very happy with Windows 7. I'll plunk down the cash for a legit copy once it releases. |

I suppose you've never heard of RTM (Release to Manufacturers). MS needs to send the release version to OEMs before it's actually released so they can check that stuff actually works.
It dropped for MSDN subscribers a few weeks ago. It's the same thing you will find on disks in the store (there is a month or so turnaround time on disk manufacturing).

I guess you didn't try hard enough (or use Google). |

It's AU's fancy subscription. If you are in Computer Science/Engineering you can get access. |

if there's anyone on the forums with access to the MSDNAA catalog through Auburn, and doesn't want/plan on using their Win7 key, let me know. Here's a chance for some good karma (because I might not kill you) |
