So I'm moving to Auburn to go to the university and I'm trying to find a reliable/good ISP.

I know I've heard there is ATT, TWC, and Charter in the area.

They are all known to be god-awful ISP's in a lot of areas, and I was wondering if there was a "general consensus" as to what the best was, or if anyone could put up some speedtest.net results.

I'm obviously a gamer, found this website when searching for AU clubs a long time ago, not sure how interested I am or anything, but if anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Now I found out about Knology.

The 25/5 plan looks pretty awesome, but I'm wondering what the pricing is on it. :/

Gotta call an auburn sales rep apparently, but I got work so I can do that later I guess.

I'm using Knology in Huntsville area. Their service up here is rock solid. One 2 hour failure in a year and a half. Rest of the time I get more than 17mb download using the 25/5 tier of service, the upload is always over 5mb.

Amazing :d

How much is the 25/5? I had a website price the 12/2 at 79.99$/mo which isn't horrible, if the 25/5 was under 99.99 I'd probably go for it.

Charter is usually the cheapest in Auburn, but it is hit or miss on reliability. Some areas will never go down, others will be down every day. I had AT&T aDSL while I was there, it was always reliable and fast enough.

I've had recent connection issues with AT&T DSL and I've heard Charter has been rather reliable as of late.

Knology wasn't available at my address yet.

Got charter 25/3 and it's running at like 30/3 so I'm pretty content right now, just gotta pay attention to that bandwidth usage because of the cap they have :O

But I'm in auburn now and I'm a pretty heavy SC2 gamer and I live with my best friend(also a heavy SC2 gamer) and we know nobody in the area so if anybody plays SC2 or anything I'd love to find some other gamers(specifically sc2 but gamers in general are pretty cool people).

Thanks for the suggestions and all that jazz Very Happy

Just be glad you don't have Mediacom. I was using Knology (in Madison/Huntsville area) and it was amazing. Now I live in the middle of nowhere and Mediacom is ass. They are also being sneaky and filtering sites on their DNS servers that they don't like apparently (they won't resolve at all, not even to Mediacom's terrible domain trapping page), so google dns or opendns are required.
