Just checked, in person, all the stores in Auburn/Opelika that sell games.
No Fallout 3. I also called all the wal-marts in a 100km radius. No Fallout 3.
With stores breaking the street date all over the US... AAAAllleeeeeeebaaaumaaa seems to have their shit together |

| Any word on the system requirements? I'm wondering if I should even bother just yet. |

Windows XP/Vista
1GB System RAM (XP)/ 2GB System RAM (Vista)
2.4 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 256MB RAM (NVIDIA 6800 or better/ATI X850 or better)
Recommended requirements:
Intel Core 2 Duo processor
2 GB System RAM
Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA 8800 series, ATI 3800 series)
I'm sure it scales back pretty far. It plays on the 360... |

| Yeah, those minimum requirements are pretty low. I think I should hold off a bit and upgrade a little first, though. You know, just in case. |

| Game works great on an 8800. Looks better than the console versions too. |

And it's always fun blowing a Super Mutant's head off with a Combat Shotgun at point-blank while Dogmeat chews on its [fuzzy kitten].
My only real problems with the game right now are thus:
1. SecureRom on installation decided I was a horrible person and that I was running "bad" software on my computer (Daemon Tools, etc.). Lead to an annoying installation (that and the fact that the game installed "Games for Windows Live!" without even asking me if I wanted it).
2. I tend to crash randomly. There is no rhyme or reason to this. I have crashed swapping weapons, entering areas, killing an enemy, walking over a hill, talking to a person, entering V.A.T.S., you name it. Interval has been from 10 minutes up to several hours.
On a positive note, the game has extremely fast loading times (think original Half-Life area transistions) on my machine atleast. |

| Yeah, I've heard about the crashing issues. Folks seem to be waiting for a quick fix from Bethesda, and that's pretty normal for their products, sadly... |

Run into some of the same crash issues - had a stranger one pop up - game stopped responding to mouse input and I was getting a single hex-code digit at the top center of my screen. Hit 'esc' and loaded my last save, back in action no problem. Weird.
And yeah, I was surprised at how quickly it loads. Running on 2x8800GTOC SLI'd - good looking game so far. |

Oh - figured out the hex-code thing - hit the "tilda" key then click
press "tilda" again to get back into the game (weird)
in case you don't know what the tilda key is, it's the "`" key, normally top left corner of your keyboard |
