My old development server died about a year ago and I don't have the time to fix it. I was wondering if someone had any old computers laying around that I can buy. I don't need a monitor or input devices or anything, just the comp.
Since it's just going to be a dev web server I don't need great specs. Something like 256mb ram, 200-300MHz cpu, 30gb hd would be fine. And as long as it has a few pci ports I have my own ethernet cards etc. I don't even need a box, I can just use my old server box...
My budget is ~50USD.. I can push it up a bit higher depending on the rig tho. Anyhow, just wanted to check if anyone at gamers had something before I went and bought a new mobo/cpu to shove into my server box.. |

| I could part with mine, but it meets none of your requirements. Good ole Pentium MMX, 96 megs, and a 4 gig harddrive. Granted it does have a 64meg voodoo 3 in it. |

Unfortunately... that's probably a bit too slow. Of course.. it will just be running a non GUIed 'nix.. but still a bit slow |

I got a box for you, I'm blurry on the specs but I'll look them up when I get home.
I think its a 266MHz P2, probably 256MB ram, not sure on hard drive, but I've got some of those laying around too. |

| I've got a few....one is a celeron300a that has always run fine at 450mhz. Not sure about the ram, but I can cannibalize from other systems. The other is a p2 450mhz (or was it p3 700? It's been so long) that has linux already on it...not sure if red hat 7.1 or mandrake 8.1. Also have a few higher spec systems. Any interest? |

I like a dedicated environment for schoolwork. |
