It's an old game yes. But it is a classic.
This strategy works for both sides.
With your commander build 3 solar power collectors and 2-3 mines then an airport level 1.
As soon as the airport is done build a level 1 construction aircraft.
Have it build more than 4 advance aircraft factories.
Have ALL airbases build construction aircraft for the rest of the game.
Send your construction aircraft out to find more mines and make them. Everyone else will be building vehicles and robots 1st. So you will be more mobile and take unused mineral spots. Let others kill of your mines. By the time they realize what has happend you will be building a fusion reactor and metal makers.
The swarm of construction aircraft can build things much faster than even your commander. |

Don't forget that, if pressured, you can reclaim enemy units and structures using your construction craft. |

My favorite strategy works only once on a group then they dont want to play with you any more. But once you have a sizable force to attack with, build a bunch of metal makers and turn them off. Then when your team gets in range of the enemies defense (or army if they are Core), turn on all the makers and give them to the enemy. All of the sudden their power usage will skyrocket and they wont know why.
This is very akin to the trading off alot of a material then using harvest in Settlers of Catan. It is a legit strategy but a hardcore dick move. |

Well if we are opening up dick moves. ...
Build an airbase immediately and one transport aircraft per enemy commander -1. Fly over and pick up your enemy commanders with the transports. Fly them all to the one commander you didn't pick up, put them on patrol. Dare him to attack.
If he doesn't attack after an appropriate amount of taunting and laughing, delete one of your transports in-flight.
done. no more TA in the club |

I like how all the games where I introduced the club to a new dick move, are the very ones we still talk about. Although at the time I was cursed for performing such heinous but completely legal acts. |
