Rules are posted only after a game is selected...that way, we can tailor the rules to fit the game. The date should already be posted in the forums, but it's April 21-22. |

Generally, games will get deathmatch like styles.
With formats of something like best score after 3 maps or 1v1 single/double brackets.
Team games are generally same style but changed up for teams (teams are usually of 3 or 5).
If there is a large standard set of rules that we like (e.g., CAL for CS) then we'll use them.
The details vary per game, but the basics are the same. If you have suggestions for rules then post them on the appropriate thread and they'll be considered. |

I have two rules requests concerning these games:
Halo / Halo 2: Random weapons sets on maps.
GG2: Something longer than the shortest time settings. If worst comes to worst, then get me to do it so that people don't get rushed through. |

We picked that because it kept fights short, so the tournament didn't run overly long. We'll consider lengthening times, but if there's enough people in the tournaments, we'll have to keep it short. |

You can keep them longer so long as you can run brackets in parallel. That is, one more than one TV. |

And since this is going to be the last time we use the Xbox, why not have the final round set to infinite or max time? I also have the same question for Smash Bros. |

No, that would be a bad idea, especially for Smash Bros. As I stated above, the reason we do this time thing is to keep the games short. As it is, Smash Bros. tends to run over its time limit because of the number of people who play it. And with ten competitions this semester, we have to be extra careful when taking time into consideration, because we've got to run five tournaments a day, and that's not easy, especially when they take lots of setup like some of the PC tournaments do, or are very large tournaments. We'll do our best when creating the rules to be fair about timing, but if a tournament gets too big, we'll have to change times to accomodate everyone. |

You realize that's about 10 hours out of each day that's just dead, unless you run them back to back. 5 comps, each 1hr with 1hr between. |

Technically, we're only getting about 36 hours to do this...10:00 am Saturday to 10:00 pm Sunday. If we don't run tournaments from midnight to noon on Sunday, to give people time to sleep and do religious business or chores, etc., we have 24 hours. Two hours per tournament, times ten tournaments, equals 20 hours...leaving 4, to fix any possible screw ups, handle problems, gather supplies, and so on. |

If you vote loudly with a large group of people who plan to come, then perhaps. At best you can only make it a tie yourself for now. I'd think that if a bunch of people posted their votes on a close one like this it might flip the vote, but the decision is up to Ack. |

Tell you what. If you and one other person wish to vote for Halo 2 to win, we'll allow it, but only because of how close this vote is. |
