I think the only issue is space really...
Hell, i wouldn't mind if people lugged their computers and dropped them off at my place for the weekends, any time is fine. Now, i don't guarantee that all your computer components will still be intact.... Infact, i am looking for more cooling on my computer... *shifty eyes*

You don't need a committee for this, just somebody say "hey, lan party at my place next weekend!" and then give directions and everyone shows up.
That's how normal lan parties are, no need for competitions and prizes, just power plugs, networking, and food (and of course floor space).

The lan party is a peripheral goal of the committee. The primary focus is organizing smaller, feeder tournaments throughout the semester.

Well, I'm pretty sure my house won't work. I mean, we have lan parties all the time, but it's mainly 10 or 15 people at the most. And there's not much room to sit. I'll talk to my parents (because I do live in their house) and see what they say about it. But if we were to have it here it would be invite only.

Ash is having a LAN party at his house this weekend (the 12th) and again the week after that.
